LONDON HIGHLIGHTS ON FAM TRIP WITH CENTRAL HALL WESTMINSTER

Written by: Sue - 31st July 2018

All smiles from the Calder team during a recent FAM trip with Central Hall Westminster exploring their versatile conference offering and accommodation with DoubleTree by Hilton.

"DoubleTree by Hilton London Westminster were delighted to host Calder Conferences in conjunction with Central Hall Westminster," said Elaine De Paola, the hotel's Director of Sales, who also enjoyed the weekend.

"Calder have a long-standing working relationship with both venues and this was the first time we demonstrated how we can work together. This working collaboration between the venue and hotel provider makes it a one-stop-shop for any large residential event in the Westminster area," continued Elaine.

Together with our brilliant Central Hall and DoubleTree hosts, we explored everything the venue has to offer for conferences and events, particularly the Great Hall - the flagship space. Here, AV service providers White Light displayed just what can be achieved when presenting an experience in-keeping with the building's unique historical character. Much-appreciated drinks and treats were in store for us too, thanks to catering service partner KUDOS.

This venue and accommodation 'double-force' is very convenient for enabling delegates and guests to experience London culture, demonstrated perfectly by our visit to Motown : The Musical â€‹at the Shaftesbury Theatre, followed by a delicious meal at trendy Bone Daddies restaurant in Nova Food Victoria - a buzzing new destination that's just minutes from the railway station.

Central Hall is an interesting Grade II listed building which was originally a public meeting space for the Methodist Church. Now it is the largest conference and events venue in central London, with a choice of 25 rooms and spaces for events of all shapes and sizes up to 500 people.

Accommodation at DoubleTree by Hilton London Westminster is contemporary and stylish and very well-placed indeed: it's close to South Bank tourist attractions, Theatre District, Victoria Station, Waterloo train and tube, not forgetting Gatwick Express connections.

Thanks to our hosts, once again, as there's nothing like a first-hand experience to help us get beneath the skin of a venue and its offering.

Other aspects of learning we'll take away with us - as northerners - are 1) how to use the Oyster card and 2) that it's very important to stand on the correct side of every escalator!
